The Perfect Marriage, they say, is built by two imperfect people who refuse to give up. The pace of modern life may have led to the blurring of line between work and home, but entrepreneurial couples are completely erasing the line.
Being part of a family run Export Business of floor coverings for seventeen years, Anirudh had travelled all over the globe extensively. With a keen eye for aesthetics and an innate pride in Indian-ness, he wanted to do something to bring contemporary and stylish products that were so absent in the Indian Market. In the meantime, despite a background in MNC Banking industry, Nivedita realised her true calling lay in being a curator for Home Decor.
Thus was born ‘DEMOCRACY HOMES’ out of a deep desire to design & curate products in lifestyle & Home accessories just to fill that empty space in India – the happy intersection of modernity, taste and international style. These lifestyle products are handpicked from local artisans across the globe. DEMOCRACY HOMES has products in brand in Home Collectibles, linens, cushions, throws, dining, cutlery, bath essentials, towels, organizers, vases, wall arts, rugs, outdoor accessories and more with a distinct European undercurrent.
We started our operations from one store in 2016 and were simply overwhelmed by the response. The quest continues everyday to make our website an Aesthete’s delight, a place you can keep coming back every time to discover something new & original that adds a touch of beauty to your life.
